Yes, under the provisions of the Law No. 26 of 2007 and the following amendments, regarding the regulation of the relations between tenants and landlords. The law deems it mandatory to register tenancy contracts with RERA-DLD through the Ejari system. Ejari establishes a transparent relationship between landlords and tenants so that both parties are fully aware of their rights and obligations and are equally protected. The Ejari registration also integrates the tenancy agreement into a legal framework and it is therefore recognized by all government departments across the Emirate of Dubai.
